  • Cookery question.

I have two containers of cooked rhuberb which was frozen last summer.
Any suggestions as to what I can use it for.
These are large containers so hoping they wont go to waste.

Bramble, you can’t beat a good old traditional rhubarb tart with custard

I'd use it for rhubarb, orange and ginger jam it's one of my favourites.

Bren...that was what I needed to know.
Is it all right to thaw it out and use it for jam?

Rhubarb pies, crumbles or sponge (Discovered the last of these after I married, layer of rhubarb in bottom of casserole dish with sprinkle of brown sugar, pop a layer of sponge cake batter on top and bung in oven at 180 til sponge is cooked), or lightly stewed with yoghurt or custard on the side
Rhubarb and ginger, or rhubarb and vanilla jam.
Plot neighbour tells me he had a lovely rhubarb and ginger dhal at an Indian restaurant once, but has never quite managed to recreate it.

Bramble I've used frozen blackberries and rhubarb straight from the freezer to make jam it seems to work out fine.

I am now hungry reading this thread... and while I have signs of life in my rhubarb patch, I am going to have to wait until I can start harvesting

I only asked about using the frozen rhubarb to make jam because it's already cooked.
                  Thanks all.
