Stripping sweetcorn from the cob

My sweetcorn are only just getting to ripeness, which is late for me. I am guessing it's not enough sun, but my soil is rather poor. I was very excited initially, as each of my 12 plants began developing two cobs - sadly, only one on each has grown to normal size.

So now I am blaming the lack of sun, planting too close together, lack of water and lack of food... but not myself

I agree T-lady, definately worth freezing, though I don't bother to blanch mine - just chuck them in as quick as I can after picking!

I've just spent ages with 2 cobs and a knife and my fingers are sore already - Thinking about opening a tin of "ho-ho-ho Green Giant"

Yep My thoughts exsacly I tried this got coverd in white stuff corn every where and thought sod it I'll freze it hole then had to clean up before Mrs D came home
