    Just noticed there's a variation on this in the apples and pears supplement with GYO this month. Looks very similar but with vanilla pods/seeds. I like vanilla so might try both versions.

      Can't afford to buy GYO at the moment, could you possibly list the recipe? I love vanilla too and have got some in my kitchen cupboard.

      And I made some parsley honey last week, it smells foul while it's boiling up but when the parsley is strained out, it looks and tastes rather like heather honey, much thicker than the pear honey. This is a wartime recipe, but I'd love to know who was the first person to experiment - and why!

          Made a trial batch of the Pear Honey this evening before I went to local gardening club AGM (sort of felt obliged to attend as I'm the Secreatry) - just tried some - freakin gorgeous

            i know! it's hard to believe something so simple can be so yummy eh? i made some runny stuff the other night and it's great too. off to make the last of it today/tomorrow...unless i manage to steal, oops i mean, find some more pears in the next few days!!
