Tested the new dehydrator today and made apple rings.
Also over the weekend I made batches of nectarine jam, nectarine-redcurrant jam, tomato sauce, and canned plums.

Dehydrated three types of chilli (Lemon Drop, Cayenne and Kashmiri) after splitting them and saving the seeds for the future.

We have 7 large cucumbers to contend with at the moment, so I might be tempted to pickle some myself…but I am really enjoying chomping my way through them
Yesterday OH passata’d several jars of our tomatoes. I love them on pasta with grated Parmesan cheese.
Me?…well 4more kilos of cooked down windfalls apples.

Never actually tried them to taste. I love pickle/chutneys of any sort but not gherkins

                      Jam question.
Can I jar some up(with all the pulp seeds etc) then sieve some into a jar (seedless pulpless)?
My mum prefers seedless etc these days.

Or do I need to make separate batches?

I always seive the seeds out before I add the sugar. I'm messy though, and wouldn't attempt to do it with hot thickened jam as it would be an accident waiting to happen for me.

Ah good point about the hot jam. I'm also messy.
                          Will ponder that one.

Have made blackcurrant and vanilla jam this morning.

The pulp though, I just tend to put a stick blender into the fruit and give it a really good zap before I add the sugar. Mr GF hates lumps in his jam. I do it with marmalade too before I add the peel.
