I'm going to pick more chillies today and bring some garlic back from the allotment to add to the tomato glut on my kitchen windowsill and make more chilli jam.

I made some vinegar using apple peelings/cores leftover from various batches of applesauce. I am ridiculously over pleased with myself about this. (I've never made vinegar before, let alone out of scraps)

I made some peperonata a few weeks ago from a recipe I got off the grapevine. Some of it I froze in ice cube trays with large compartments. I was delighted to take it out and defrost it and find it was still amazing so, as I have got lots of peppers and tomatoes I'm going to make more and freeze it for the cold dark months. This and ratatouille are ways to remember Summer on the shortest, darkest days. Thank heaven for freezers.

Over the last couple of weeks I've made some pretty pink Quince jelly and some Apple & Rhubarb chutney.

I have some pears left , so I am going to make up some Lemony Pineapple and Pear jam ( I label it as tropical pear) - sounds a bit odd but it is scrummy onb a crumpet! I even got some tiny jars at Wilkinson, so this makes a nice little pressie to add to bags and baskets.

I've just started defrosting my tubs of redcurrants, to make jelly for xmas, and raspberries for jam - I will need the freezer space soon so best get on with it....

Made some pickled onions the other day - there were some discounted small onions at Lidl, so I thought why not ? :-)

                                Five jars of dried mushrooms.
The Supermarket was selling them off with yellow stickers and I couldn’t resist them. No room in freezer, so had to get them in the dehydrator.
They’ll be great for casseroles later on.
