    Can anyone give me some idea how long it should take for cider to turn to vinegar. I had the last batch of cider from last year which didn't taste too good so I thought I'd just leave it in large coffee jars with a muslin over the top to keep out insects and make some vinegar for this years pickles. I added some unpasteurized organic cider vinegar to each jar to kick start it and it's been going three months now. I dipped my finger in and it tastes vinegary but is there an easy way to check when it's finished the process.
