Buy a length of 1/4 inch airhose from a motor factor then put that on the syphon thingy you have already. A good pinch will stop the flow for transfer from one bottle to another.

Practise makes us a little better, it doesn't make us perfect.

      What would Vedder do?

          Thats hysterical!!!!
I will probably get told off soon for laughing too much!
Had images of Shirl in a white lab coat and goggles in her kitchen and then heywayne on his floor sucking a pipe and trying not to spill a drop.
By the way, i use the suck it method, only saw on youtube tonight the weird siphon thing, makes sense, but how else would you know what it tastes like???!! lol

You are such silly billies - obviously you syphon (i.e. stick a tube in the dj and suck!) into a bucket then pour from the bucket into the bottles with the aid of a funnel - easy peasy!

Mind you, if Flum had not given me that particular tip, I'd still be slopping the brew all over the floor like the best of 'em.

These days we are making wine, not beer, but I reckon we'd spill more that way than using the syphon!
You really need a 2 person team to control syphon-to-bottles. One makes sure the syphon end stays under the wine in the demijohn, the other steers the far end to the next bottle before overflow occurs.....
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

yes m'dears the sediment will set fairly firm, but beware of pressure, I had some in a "king keg" filled with lager, under pressure the gloop became carbonated aswell as the lager and on easing of pressure ie drawing a few pints for pals (official tasting) the carbonated gloop shot to the top, we could see it oozing up the sides even through the thick plastic!!, the next
                  pint was like soup, yech!!.

If you're trying to do bottling on your own, it's definitely worth investing in a 'syphon set' which has a clip to hold the tube steady in the bucket, and a tap on the other end of the tube. Means you can stop and start it at will, and no messy pouring and funnels needed

made the brew buddy type from wilkinsons about 20 quid to get you started works out at about 50p per pint and is very drinkable bottled mine into pop bottles also made the chardonay wine kit one which is very nice !!! its real easy to do just follow the instructions and in about a week you have about 30 bottles of wine

It's still in the barrel - think it'll be alright?

Wasn't that keen last time I tried it.
