The biggest problem I have with mice is them pulling up my onion sets and collecting them together in a neat little pile They don't seem to bother when the ground is covered with the wire shelves out of my blowaway greenhouse though, so I just have to remember to keep them on... Peas, beans, sweetcorn etc which they'd nibble, I sow at home where we have 3 cats, and then plant them out on the allotment when the seed isn't so attractive.

Just wondering whether anyone has tried spraying the area around with either garlic or chilli...I have it on pretty good authority that both of these work wonders with all kinds of our furry friends, and though I've not yet tried it myself I'll certainly be doing so this year at the first sign of any problems. The first is made by adding a full, crushed garlic bulb to water and simply applying with a spray, and the second is, I think, made by mixing some very hot chilli powder with water and applying in the same way.

The Bio-Dynamic way is worth a try if you really want rid of them. Skin a few and burn the skins, sprinkle the ash where you don't want them. As to how to burn skins without getting too much else mixed in, you'd need to experiment, but if there's a big area of ground to cover you can potentise the ash into a homeopathic spray.

So, let me get this right; are we talking about skinning the strawberries or, perish the thought, skinning the ickle mice? Not sure I'm up to such ad-hoc butchery, if so...

Nope the ultra sonic didn't work for me either, the little blighters ate all of my peas.
Have been advised to try lime, fingers crossed that works.
