  • Land for allotments

I am thinking of converting an area of land to allotments and would like to assess the demand. Does anybody have any ideas as to where the best place to advertise would be? It is the Gloucester area.

    Thanks in advance.

As a commercial venture? You'd probably have to give people some idea of your rent, because they do vary widely.

I pay £27 a year (there are probably 30 plots)

Yes as a commercial venture but I would only charge the local going rate - would need guidance on that also.

Are the allotments in your area oversubscribed with a long waiting list? If so I expect you will find people who will bite your arm off! if not then they will probably only come if the land is convenient to get to

Between Gloucester and Newent. By a bus stop if that is any help.
