Do not worry it is natures way of stopping you wasting seeds by sowing to soon you will laugh about it in the summer every thing catch's up in time...jacob

      That's so true jacob.

Seriously antonio, there is no point doing anything at the moment. The ground is too cold and too wet and you'd probably do more damage than good to the soil structure if you tried to dig in these conditions. Just use this time to make sure you've got everything you need for the season ahead.

At the weekend I noticed that some of my Autumn sown broad beans were coming into flower. Just gone and had a look and some are now dead or turning black. Case of some you win and some you lose.

As others have said; no need to worry, things will catch up once the weather improves.

If conditions allow you to get on your plot and do dome digging there's no harm in getting a little more preparatory work done. How about digging a bean trench and starting to fill it.

Yesterday, in the garden at home, I dug the trenches and filled them with compost for my courgettes. Today I will be doing the same, on the lottie, for the pumpkins and butternut. I am lucky in that the soil is not to wet and it is possible to work it without damaging the structure.

Any time you can spend getting ready for the coming season is time well spent.

Try sowing them in root trainers and only putting them in a cold greenhouse once they are half an inch high.

I sowed them in loo rolls but I must admit they have been in the green house. Should I start them off in the kinitch.

Got out on to plot yesterday for the first time in an absolute age. Lost enthusiasm last year for various reasons, and its been frustrating waiting for weather to be right now I've finally found it again Feel much better now I can see I have 'done' something.

Yesterday was lovely, turned over a patch about 3x4m and put a couple of raised beds together. Plan was to go down again today, but it snowed and froze over night. There's always next week!

                        I've been sowing loads!
In loo rolls, modules etc. The greenhouse doesn't really exist, as the cover has totally disintegrated.

Still, sweet peas, broad beans etc are started off. Onions too.

Well...w're snowed in for the 3rd time in 8 weeks!!!
Apparently it's NOT normal for here!
Glad I didn't put my shallots and onion sets in now when I bought them the other day.
Too much wind here at the moment in my exposed piece of field to think about fleecing up/cloches
