You might be saying it as a joke, but unfortunately there are far too many people doing just that.

What's wrong with buying stuff and putting them on ebay?

Especially if it's goods from Tesco or their ilk! I seriously doubt their profit margins would be significantly dented
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

So buying in quantity cheap & selling dear at a profit makes the seller better than Tescos how? Never mind that it stops anyone else from buying them at 37p?

Nobody mentioned being better or worse than Tesco.

Are we supposed to now ask everyone in the store whether they want an item before we buy it, just in case they want it first? How bizarre.

That isn't what I said at all is it.

What's bizarre about considering that other people miss out on a good deal cos you've bought up in bulk all the 37p bird boxes? To me that is greed, greed of the sort displayed by people who say 'so what I got there first, why shouldn't I sell them on ebay and make a profit', whilst on the other hand being negative about Tesco and their economic operations.

So call it bizarre if you like, I call it greed.

Yep that's how I feel about it, and yes I do share out the bargains when I'm instore.

The other day I was in the supermarket and things were been reduced to 10p and 20p, then the girl quickly grabbed 4 packs of chicken breast fillets and 2 packs of fresh burgers, from a nearby cabinet pricing them at 50p each. I could have had all 4 packs of the chicken (as I was holding them), but as there was another woman there, I said to the assistant that I'd have 2 and let the other woman have the other 2. The other woman had already taken 1pack of burgers, which I'd said to the girl I didn't want. I was happy to get a bargain and I'm sure the other woman was too, however if I'd grabbed all and just thought 1st come 1st served, then the other woman would have felt cheated and more than likely have behaved in a more aggressive/selfish way, when visiting the reductions section in future. The way I view it, is that everyone loves/wants/needs a bargain at times, but if the greedy take all and are not happy to share on the good fortune, then they are being mean spirited and not thinking of how their behaviour impacts on their community.

Once I even took a lovely fresh expensive desert out of my trolley and offered it to an older woman, who turned up after the rest of us had cleared all the bargains (Sainbury's used to close 6pm). It's not like I need a pudding for nutrition, it was the sugar/fat greed that made me select it in the first place, so when I saw her asking the assistant if the same puds that were not out of date, would be reduced and told no, I said she could have mine, as I had other bargains. I have seen some folk acting as if they are the only folks who matter at the reduced cabinet, and I've then seen other folk walk away in disgust at their behaviour, as it's like seeing a wild animal ripping into a dead beast.

Nowt wrong with a bit of capitalistic opportunism and being in the right place at the right time. (Said Del Boy to Rodders!)

Is this not the Tory Govenment mantra anyway?
