  • Just a few... wanna see em?

Well, what a day - on Sunday - it took me 2 1/4 hours to get there! The A12 queued from bladdy Brentwood to get on the M25, then queued from there for bridge/tolls. Spent 15 minutes loading the new 'Laydees' into the car, then back off again.

Then, it took 2 1/4 hours to get back home! Back on M25 at Junction 4 at the start of the queue for the tolls/tunnel, and queued again to get back on the bladdy A12 - Mental or what?

Anyway, here they are all 25 of them

Glad to see all arrived safely! They look like rescued chooks? Are they additions to an existing flock or are you just starting off?

Nowt like jumping in at the deep end if you are!

What a horrible journey for you.

So, now we know, a few equals 25!

I hope they settle in well and get along happily with each other and don't give you any cause for concern

OK, so I was a little vague about numbers *hee hee hee* this 25 added to my existing 18 will make the grand total of 43

One has hardly any feathers; totally bald back and wings, stubbly neck and tail - all in all a really pathetic-looking little thing. She's eating, drinking and socialising, so I'm not worried about her. The rest are slightly better than my originals were a year ago, and two or three are fully feathered, like 'normal' hens

I'd forgotten how huge and floppy their combs were; some of 'em look like they've got their party hats on

Awww, sorry to hear that Auntie Mo, little poppets though, aren't they?! They can be sooo frail, but soooo tough and robust at the same time. OK, I know that sounds more than a little bit loopy, but I'm sure you know perfectly well what I mean

Does sound strange do say 'down' to 40
