I had to put two watering cans full of water on my potted apple tree which was starting to wilt.
I suspect that caused a few titters from others as it was hissing it down at the time!

I think you should make the most of the weather and get out there with a bucket, some suds, and a scrubbing brush and wash the walls down. When you have finished, you can come and do my car.

My baskets have got moisture retaining gel in them & it's been peeing down with rain recently but I noticed this afternoon that they needed watering as the flowers were drooping! Funnily enough it has been sunny most of today but you'd think they'd have had enough rain to last them a lifetime already!

I use the gel also but as there is much growth (thankfully) and lots of wind transpiration is playing havoc I guess - so remaining silly is what I shall do

My grandad used to water his garden as soon as the first drops of rain began to fall, he said it softened the surface enough to allow the rain through. When you're gardening on heavy clay that's formed a cap it is sensible, but it didn't stop the neighbours thinking he was completely insane.Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
