  • APPLE TREE.. again only growing leaves this year

Hi there, I really need your help now.

Bought two young apple trees(Discovery and Orange cox) in spring 2007. After planting and few weeks later, brown spots appeared on my leaves, and i also lost all my apples right after flowering...thought it was due to trees being very young.

This year again...brown spots on leaves(removed all affected leaves), trees were flowering just fine, even had little mini apples.. and again...all apples dropped off. Don't know what is the problem. Too much watter or not enough, windy or what?

I am really unhappy and so disappointed about this as i was hoping to try at least one little apple this year.
Thank you for all your advise,
    Marcela

I wouldn't worry too much - young trees often take a few years to find their feet. As for the apples falling, young apple trees usually drop their apples before they become a drain on the tree; I usually pinch the blossoms off my young apples to save them the trouble - I don't allow them to bear fruit till they're four years old. As for the brown spots on the leaves: there is a variety of possible causes. Best thing you can do - give each tree a heavy mulching with good garden compost or well-rotted manure, and be patient. Good luck!

thank you fiveravens, good to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
I will do mulching and will be patient.
However those brown marks on my trees are still worrying me a lot, done my research on line and various books yet still don't know how to get rid of this problem, except taking affected leaves off
