  • Ahh, I knew there was a reason.

After months of rain, cold and then more rain, today was finally sunny. Yey! I'd begun to wonder why I was doing this, but today I know there are loads of good reasons........ here are my top five.
1, I picked my first picked peas of the season (then immediately ate them )
2, A pumpkin plant doubled its size between 10am and 6pm (I'm gobsmacked every year when that happens)
3, My grandson happily eats all veg and fruit (except bananas ) and one of his first words was 'watering can'.
4, My plot now looks like an allotment again instead of a swamp
5, I'm walking around with a huge grin on my face even though I'm hot, filthy and aching.

Doesn't take much to make an allotmenteer happy, does it?
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

    Good for you!

We had a chilly, dull day after two days of lovely sunshine. Haven't harvested anything except lettuce yet but delighted that my peas are in flower and are taller than me
    Happy Gardening,
    Shirley
