How very, very true - especially the Ritalin part which is my current hobby-horse. I can't believe that we're raising a generation of medicated kids, and worse that their parents seem to think that this is acceptable.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

we could do with alot more 1960 and alot less PC , p.s how does johnny sit still in class after having six of the best.
we could also do with the policemen clouting afew of these yobs around there ear as it saves alot of paperwork and gives the bobby more time to catch criminals.

Just be thankfull that we live in the UK, most of the rest of the western world is far worse and as for the rest, I don't think I'm allowed to comment on them. Don't forget that the 50's and 60's are responsible for the idiots who are in power at the moment condoning this sad state of affairs.

And mine! Told me how he and a few chums made a bomb out of a bike pump and blew up the long jump sandpit on his school field once. Wasn't keen on telling me and me sis exactly how he did it though....

I have to say it - bring back the 60's.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

Both our sons were diagnosed with asthma and given inhalers as toddlers. As Madmax is asthmatic (because he was premature and has lots of allergies) we almost believed it. However, I refused to dose them with medication and instead took them to the family smallholding to spend time with goats, horses, dogs, cats, and whatever other 'germs' were to be found. Somewhere there is a lovely photo of mk1 son sound asleep in a pile of the 'clean' straw while my mum was mucking out stables! It turned out that the constant bronchitis they were suffering from (diagnosed as asthma) was caused by the damp in our council flat. We found out when we moved - we were taking the wardrobes out of the main bedroom and found the wall covered with mold. Since we moved out of there, neither son has had a wheeze or chest infection - other than the common cold.
