  • You have to look don't you!

There is a big biiig (even bigger) big spider on the ceiling just at the bottom of the stairs. Every time I go passed him I have to look up - yuk! I'm OK with them to a certain size, but this boy is HOWGE!

Anyone in this area in the next very short time please stop by for a coffee ....

Sorry Piskie... not gonna be near you.... just think of the mozzies it's munching ... that should help
Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

I hope he's doing something useful because he has been motionless* all day - which means, hang on ... that he will be on walkabouts tonight!!

*unless he is playing that game, what's it called - where you all run around and when the music stops you have to sop else you are out - what's it called.... anyway, I am clearly his music

        I'd come, I don't mind huuuuuge spiders, but, it's a long drive...

I usually move them along by putting a pint glass over them, then slide a piece of card under it. If it's reeeally big, a vase might work instead of a glass?

Glass? I would drop it! I am a scaredy I'm afraid.

We have loads in the garden at the moment making webs every night across the steps up to the higher garden and across from the GH to the house.
They get me every time. I manage to walk into the web and imagine spiders in my hair - yelp.

I have raked the soil and planted the seeds
Now I've joined the army that fights the weeds.

I came downstairs a couple of days ago to find a spider under a pint glass. When DD came downstairs later she asked where her 'pet' spider had gone. 'To school', I replied, as I had taken the glass, with a card underneath, across the field and tipped him into the school grounds. Hopefully it was far enough away for him not to find his way back. I haven't seen him yet!
My sister trained her dog, and then her cat, to eat spiders as she was petrified of them. I'm OK as long as I know where they are, it's when they 'walk' it worries me. I hate spiders webs too. I keep a garden cane by the back door, and use it to 'clear' the way down to the garage in the morning. The only thing is, everyone else is taller than me, so they get the higher ones
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

I'm fine with Spiders, even huuuuuge ones, but it's their webs I can't stand.

Now that I use my car for carting gardening waste (bags of weeds) etc, my car has acquired several new 'residents' and every morning I have to wipe the webs away before I can get in!

Put him in your greenhouse? I've got at least one in mine and the webs catch all those annoying little compost flies Or, just open the back door and fling it out, depending how freaked out you are

The worst bit is when you see him on the ceiling on the way up the stairs but he's not there when you go back down .........

LOL, the cats would probably have a good game with it
Mine are hilarious chasing huge moths around, except in the bathroom where they just cause big avalanches of shampoo bottles in the middle of the night and make me think we're being burgled or something
(I hate moths, or anything else flapping round my head )

I don't mind spiders and usually catch them in a glass and evict them, BUT have you ever run a nice bath, got in, lay back to relax and then spot a large spider abseiling down from the ceiling right above the bath?????
