  • Would this annoy you?

Would this annoy you being parked outside you house after you had just gotten home from work???
I currently rent my house and these are the neighbours who have been working on the house next door for over 12 months and have yet to still move in, this is the reason im thinking of not renewing my tenancy

Thats nothing hun !! for 4 months we had a knackered car transported with 2 scrap cars on it, it had 2 flat tyres and no tax !!!! the police did nothing and the local brats played on it and jumped on my hubbys 4 x 4 from the cars !!
In the end i had to report it to DVLA and they had it towed away !
Some places have awful parking and there is a road near ere that has nearly every other vehichal is a white van.
Trouble is once it starts to get to you its al you can think of and it gets to be a huge problem.

Annoying - yes, but you don't own the roadway outside your property so there's not a lot you can do about it, unless it is parked on the pavement and causing an obstruction. Have you tried talking to your neighbours and telling them (politely) the effect that their parking is having on you?

This has been going on for over 12 months now, his father in law bought the house and lives opposite but 3 doors down, there is a completely empty country pub car park next to his house and an empty road opposite where he has parked, its just frustrates me, i wouldnt dream of parking outside my neighbours house when there is so much empty space in the road, its just one of my pet hates!

I agree (and I wouldn't do it either) - but talk to them and let them know how you feel. Sadly most people these days are interested only in themselves and never consider the effect that they have on others. (We have new neighbours with noisy children who are allowed to roam around the road doing what they like. When my wife asked them to keep the noise down or go and play outside their own house, we were visited by the mother who said that she had no intention of stopping her children playing. She is a teacher and her husband is a headmaster. What chance do we have!!!!!!?) At least your problem is static!

curtains or no curtains, a massive van parked outside your house instead of the empty space next door would niggle you and make its way into your every thought.

it's most annoying. could you put bollards out?

not sure of the legality of it but I think you will find that you would be the one causing an obstruction to the road and all they have to do is move it anyway.

As it was said earlier there is nothing that can be done about a vehicle that is taxed etc parked correctly on a road. we get it all the time, all it will do if you confront them about it is cause bad feeling and more.

oh i'm sure it's not legal
it is just something that Blue could do if she's getting really Blue
but she does need to be aware that there could be more ill-feeling created than already abounds
a quick word might be worthwhile if Blue can stomach it

blue411 - Is that your Rhodesian Ridgeback please? If so - he/she is magnificent. I love the breed.

We have a male and a female although yesterday tea time Ella cut her back open in the woods chasing something at very high speed through the undergrowth and now has 8 nice shiny staples to show for it.

The vet said it was a deep but clean cut, gave her a jab and a course of anti-biotics, I gave the vet £95 and got Ella back again.

As for the parking - it is a pain but count to ten, large intake of breath and a deep glug of wine should help a bit.

That is nothing we live in a terraced house with NO garden our front door opens onto the street so anything parked is only 6' from the living room window.
Our house is only 5 mins walk from the railway station & parking can be somewhat of a problem.
Parked in front of our house in the past 4x4s worth £35k BMWs, Mercs, Jaguars
& LARGE vans. Quite often we have to park our car(Peugeot 106) some distance away.
So quite often the view from our window is the side of a LARGE vehicle.
PS Taxies & buses use our street as a "rat run" to the railway station.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.
