Its the side roads round here that are still bad. The main roads are OK, thank goodness, OH works in Cleveleys 25 miles away and has been working today.

Totally clear here now although foggy today.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Do you often get snow Alison? We never get snow that "sticks" here in Preston, its been years since we've had snow for more than a day. Forecast is for minus temperatures and then more snow for the rest of the week. Hope everyone drives carefully. PS No fog here though I heard that Liverpool Airport was shut because of it.

Our main roads are clear but there's still snow and ice around the lanes as we found out when we went walking this afternoon.

Hardly ever here, lived here since 1992 but we are right down in the Mersey basin. This is only the second time we've had anything like proper snow and we still had less than 2". Still caused the town centre to go into meltdown though . MIL lives over towards the moors and they get a proper dumping every year.

It's been foggy here too today but most of the snow/ice has gone, just odd bits on the paths waiting to catch you out. Supposed to be going to freeze, possibly snow again in the next few days though.
We went out in the car & I managed to fall on my bum in the car park, it looked fine but there was some black ice on a slope, so 'be careful out there!'

Hi Bridget, main roads are allright I was in Belfast and Coleraine this morning. Pavements and back streets completely covered in black ice. Saw quite a few people getting caught out- cars sideways and people slipping and falling.
By all accounts it's to get worse around the New Year.

I had to liberate several buckets of grit from the thing up the road for our drive

Temperature rose to minus 3 today before it started snowing again! Our minor road is passable with care and the trunk roads are clear enough. I will be very pleased to see the back of this weather.

Main Roads are clear but side roads are a nightmare. Took the dogs out on foot this morning and fell over on the ice. Thank goodness for the extra Christmas padding or I might have done some major damage! Still hurt though - thankfully nobody saw me!

Ice Skates would have been better - very funny to see dogs trying to stop and backsides taking them or just doing their best bambi impressions...

Roads here are all clear now but we took my friend's dog for walk along cycle track and up onto the mountain. Really lovely sunshine but the paths in the shade were covered in thick ice - they were lethal. Took a lot of tricky footwork in places to avoid falling over, but it was funny watching the dog sliding about though!
Forecast here is for more heavy snow tonight so I've left my car down the bottom of the hill just in case.
