  • What are Groups?

This is a stupid question and I did say I'd ask lots of them in my intro post but I don't quite understand what groups are.

Do people use groups much and is there different info to what is in the forum?

Am I missing out by not being in any groups?

They were set up during an upgrade ages ago.
Peeps formed groups , chatted a bit and then fizzled away back to the main forum.

I'm not aware of any active ones anymore.

Ha ha thank you so really I'm not missing out much.

I had visions of there being some sort of secret societies where lots of insider info was being passed around ...

I don't understand them either and there was quite a lot of talk about what they were for when they first appeared as an option. To me a forum is a big open thing and we all share stuff together so forming sub groups and cliches behind the scene seemed at odds with this to me - then again, there's loads of things I don't get that other people love so who am I do comment

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Yes I can understand that, Alison. I didn't want to miss out if there were extra things going on behind the scenes so I'm very happy that the forum is the main place to be

Does that mean private messaging? Like you get on Facebook. Not done that on here, not even sure if I've got mine enabled or not. But I'm happy chatting on the public forum and have a job to keep up with posts as it is

Facebook? whassat? Faceache more like. Anyway, that comment is just what I've gleaned from others. I'm not on Facebook or Twitter and have no intentions of changing that either.

Yes it's private messaging and is good for anything you don't want to say in Public. I.e if you said in public that I was a twatt I'd get upset whereas if you said it to someone in a PM, i'd be in ignorance. .

Especially good if you want to bump your gums about a Mod(not that there has been need for that recently) because you can then do so without falling foul of the pointy stick.

Personality clashes can sometimes happen on forums and its understandable that not everyone is going to hit it off but if something's getting heated or nasty I'll just go do something else for a while. Not one for arguments and if I did think someone was an idiot, I'd be keeping that opinion to myself

                            {crosses Marie off gossip list}

I do try to count to ten, but sometimes if I feel I've been poked in the eye, I react and sometimes badly as one does if poked in the eye. The older I get though the less I seem to get poked in the eye

No not into gossip, not unless it's out in the open and then I guess that probably doesn't count.

People react to things in different ways and that makes life kind of interesting otherwise we'd all be like boring robots. Oh well if my ears are burning I'll know people are dissing me over the chat feature lol Ignorance is bliss sometimes!
