  • teeth through lip

My little boy (2 last saturday) slipped getting of of the bath and put his teeth right through his lip last night.

It stopped bleeding quite quickly but I know he will have a little scar as I have one in the same place form doing a similar thing at the same age.

The poor wee thing looks like he's been in a fight today!

My eldest was panicking and shouting 'mummy come quick, Dominic's cut himself and there's blood everywhere'... I was watering the pots and greenhouse and OH was in charge. Feel bad as I wasn't there although I know he would prob have still slipped even if I'd bene there too.

Luckily no op was needed as they were clean fractures??? From what i could understand from the doc ( his name was Boris and he had a severe accent ) the fractures weren't split so didn't need splint or metal plates to pull bones back together, i didn't know there was different types of fractures! she basically has 4 "rips" in her lower arm bones.

At 2 years my son had a paddy in the kitchen cos I was late feeding him and he was tired and hungry ( yup....bad mother)
he threw himself forwards face first into the fridge door- I heard a cracking of bone as his face slid down the door- jerking his neck right back)

I honestly thought I heard his neck breaking....I burst into tears with relief when I realised it was his tooth snapping and gouging out a piece of the new () fridge door.

                kids!!!!!!

( bet your OH feels bad too??)

Son no 3 picked up son no 4 when they were little and promptly dropped him on his face, he had a very bad cut lip and the doctor sent him to hospital cos he thought it would need stitching but by the time we got there hospital said it would be far worse to stitch now. He is now 21 and still has a small scar that is more prominant when he is tired. Ice lollies are very good for cut lips, give him lots of those, they help to stop the bleeding and the swelling.

I forgot to say son no 3 did it again picked up son no 4 and dropped him just when his lip was healing .... Boys

On the plus side Janeyo, when he gets older he will look 'ard cos he's got a scar.
Hope the little fella feels better soon.

At least she could have a piercing there and not have the hassle of having it pierced lol

Poor lad! I know how he feels. When I was around 10 I flew across the handlebars of my "Chopper" bike, bit the tarmac, ended up having stitches and looked like Mick Jagger for ages! Oh, and I've got "falsies" at the front of my mouth. (How could I forget that?!!)

Fortunately children heal very quickly. I hope both of them are feeling better now.

I did that, falling down some caravan steps age 2 (I maintain I was pushed )

I have a scar inside and outside my lower lip, but had forgotten all about it until you posted.
