      Happy St Patrick's Day.

Never been to Ireland on St Paddy's day, but celebrated it well when lived in the USA.

      A wee Bailey's perhaps tonight.

Nope - I'm not even planting me spuds yet!

Happy St Paddy's to one and all. I remember my first St Paddy's Day in Belfast, well bits of it anyway

Was planning on planting some spuds today and maybe sinking a few Guinnesses this evening but not feeling well so will probably spend the day in bed instead.

I shall drink enough of my fav drink to get a bit merry

Tempted to have one at lunch, but I drove to work today so probably will just have to watch and lick the windows of people in the pub enjoying theirs.

That said, I'm beginning to prefer Murpheys to Guinness now.

I always find it strange that people who aren't Irish, have no connection to Ireland and don't live there celebrate St Pats but not their own saints day. The same doesn't happen for St David or St George etc so why this?

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I'm with you on that one.

Unless the point is to get completely bladdered which is easy to do any day of the year.

Happy St. Patricks Day to all. Hope everyone enjoys the festivities. Me, went to mass, watched the parade and generally enjoyed the day. Having a nice dinner tonight but won't be wetting the shamrock as I am off the booze for lent. I have a wedding, a holy communion and a cruise coming up and know this is the only way I am going to loose weight. I have practically given up all my favourite eats and drinks, but hope it will be worth it.
At least I won't have a hangover tomorrow.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,

I had a really good paddys day, went to a little club with close freinds and watched an irish man singing wonderfull irish songs, the craic was top form. You dont have to be or need to be irish to join in the fun, the reason people dont do the st days is because not many people celebrate the saints like the irish, i am from irish stock so to be speak, i was brought up with a lovely warm funny kind irish family .mmmmm my head is pounding today though and cannot quench my thirst lol am truely suffering, but it was well worth it. xxxx

I think it got started because St Patrick's Day is such a big deal in America.
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
