I am NOT a political animal, in fact I am totally politically neutral, but surely to goodness I can't be the only one that feels that the relevant politicians (you know who I mean!) should just go? And, to top it all, they said on the telly this morning that if they stand down at the next election, instead of disappearing as they should, RIGHT NOW, the buggers will get a golden handshake of between £60,000 and £100,000?????

ALL THAT AFTER THEY HAVE ALREADY LINED THEIR POCKETS AT OUR EXPENSE???

    Leaving now before I explode

    Vive la revolution!

Our local MP (Nadine "I want to be involved in every issue that gets some publicity for me" Dorries), was on TV the other day saying something about being worried that MP's are going to feel the pressure and may even end up suicidal because of money worries.

    Imagine that.

Yep I agree they should go, was watching question time last night, yelling at the tv, one MP who was found to be a liar and taking money, since being relieved of his position in parliament, conway i think, has earned 105,000 since then and if he continues to be MP for his local constituency till next election will earn even more, its disgusting.

So everyone in the country who is really offended by the expenses scandal is going out to use their vote, right?

Probably not - but it might just get more people at the polling station this time round.

Cross everyone out on the form, and write NONE OF THEM.

It is a protest vote. How superb it would be if everyone did this, rather than sit at home shouting at the telly.

There is a sign now fixed to my lab door:

"No MPs, please. This lab is corrupt as it is..."

We had a chap knock on the door yesterday, pleading, "I'm not an MP, can I use your centrifuge?"

I'm not so naive to think it would ever happen, but personally I don't think they should have the option to "just" go!!!They should be hauled to court, given a criminal record & be made to pay back every penny they stole from us!....may even give our economy the little boost that they are all apparently so desparate for!

In Oz everyone has to vote (500AU$ fine if you don't) and spoilt votes are considered important as its a protest vote.

they haven't done anything illegal, or even against the rules. However, they did write their own rules

Can anyone hold up their hands and say they wouldn't have done the same thing, given a chance? Put everything on expenses, everything you could? Put everything through the books, instead of taking "cash" ?

I would say, though, that MPs are supposed to be role models, leading the way, kind of thing. Like teachers, police, you are supposed to look up to these professionals.

I am going to the polling station next week, but will be spoiling my paper...

Was saying to Mr OWG last night how we've not had anything from any of the parties. Nothing posted through the door, no canvassers in the evenings; and since we don't really watch TV, we've not seen any of the broadcasts.

So, how are we supposed to know who to vote for (if indeed we want to vote for any of them) without a bit of help?? Yes, I know I could probably go on t'internet and find out, but what if I was PC-less?
