  • Redundancies just announced at my work...

We've been hanging on by the skin of our teeth, but today the MD made a company announcement that 12% of our production team will be made redundant today.

We're all just waiting for the tap on the shoulder...

Devastating news. Hope it doesn't come your way.
A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.

Sorry to hear your news. I trust that the MD will keep you all informed and not drag the stress out any longer than neccessary. Have you been told when you will be told?

Thanks Guys, looks like its happening now. Our team are in a separate area (laser safety rooms) to the rest of production, so we are just hearing rumours at the moment...

It's crap being made redundant, but having got the chop myself two weeks ago I can tell you that it's certainly good for the garden.

There's not a whole lot of work available out there, that's the worst bit at the moment.

I was put on "garden leave" in Feb so have been making the most of it and taken up some serious gardening... I have never been so relaxed(and happy) for years!

Sadly working in the garden on full pay come to an end this week and I will have to start thinking about looking for a new job... my husband is worried that I am so happy doing the garden I won't want to go back

I hope everything works out fine for you and you don't get that call

Well, its over...I'm still here, but I've lost three of my 'boys'. It's truly horrible to say goodbye to good people. I don't envy the MD and HR manager one little bit.

                            I'm relieved for you!

I reckon everyone will feel rather unsettled for a while now.
