It seems we are soon to have re-vamped bank notes. Whose face would you like to see on them? Unfortunately, they have to be dead

Being a huge Queen fan I have to go with Freddie Mercury but that's just silly really.

I was gonna say Elvis but then thought "Do they have to be British" although Freddie was born in Zanzebar (?sp)

              Terry Pratchett.

I know he isn't dead, but still deserving. Do they have to be dead so the Treasury/Mint doesn't have to pay Royalties?

I couldn't tell you who is on bank notes now, without looking in someone else's wallet! There is a lady with funny hair, I think....

Hang on...the Queen is on banknotes because she's still alive - why does everyone else have to be dead?

My old mate who died aged 24. Getting on a bank note was about the only thing she hadn't done in her short life. She loved shopping and if I bought new shoes, well then she'd be with me. Still miss her.

Currently Elizabeth Fry on the fiver, Charles Darwin on the tenner and John Adams on the 20. Matthew Boulton and James Watt on the new style 50.

I propose famous murderers according to the number of their victims.

By God - that's a radical suggestion. Lewis Carroll characters like Alice, the grinning cat, etc. Or Britannia on every single one - let's bring her back.
