  • My little orange bucket....

Actually I've loads of them- but this particular one brings a smile every time I see it.
Ya see- it' outside on the North East side of the house and is totally in the shade. When it snowed and froze before Xmas, it became a bucket containing a block of ice.
Would you believe that as yet it's not thawed- since before Xmas!!!...that's about 12 weeks!
Just shows how cold this winter has been!

I too was thinking today that last November it was so very cold we wondered if we might get a white Christmas. THAT was 4 months ago and we still have a frost at night and doesn't get above 6c in the day. The sun shines though so can't really grumble.

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

So just how untypical is this winter? I can understand that you have continental weather over there Nicos - was this one extra bad?
I suppose what I'm really asking is, do we think the gulf stream has diverted?

Continental weather? Antarctica is a continent.
            Or is it incontinent weather?

I know the Thames is tidal but I didn't know it affected the Heathrow area.
