It must be rubbing off on me because that's the only time I swear when he's on!

I enjoyed his School Dinners programme and Jamie at Home, but have not seen any of this one. I take it I'm not missing much then?

We've only watched the 1st half of the 1st programe;but what I didn't get was when "La Critchlow"moaned at JO that it was too much to expect people on benefits to be able to afford fresh food when literally moments before he'd been in the home of a woman living on take aways!!I think he did well to bite his tongue....but then I guess he knew the edditting would take care of peoples thoughts & opinions!

We're not on benefits, and find fresh food much cheaper than take out.

I'm sure he worked out that this family spent around £90 a week on take-aways!!(i may have my figures wrong?).I'm presuming they then have to find more for breakfast/lunch/snacks etc etc..hmmmtake-away vs fresh!!

We'll have take out once or twice a month as a treat, but I do like cooking food fresh.
But £90 a week? Thats mad

The young mother that had not fed her children a cooked meal EVER is, to my mind, guilty of child abuse. It sickens me that these people (I don't care where they live) can cry 'we don't have any money' and then spend what little they do on expensive take-outs and SHE SMOKES .....!!!!

I'm not sure why he has made you so angry mrsc2b, but we each react differently to situations.

Jamie, whilst your language isn't necessary I am in awe of your drive and determination to try to make a difference and spend your valuable time driving around teaching people to cook.

Jamie did place a warning and apology via Radio 2 for his swearing, doesn't make it right I know - La Crtich is enough to make a Saint swear.

i missed it last night but did buy the book in a supermarket yest for less than £10 which i have found to be very good....i'm pleasantly surprised...i'd expected rehashes of recipes but theres lots of new things and options to jazz up other popular recipes.

i was a little cheesed off last week that noone showed that takeaway lady how far her money would have gone if she gave up the takeaways!

will see if i can find last nights episode online.

It appears to me that swearing by TV presenters, be they cooks or otherwise, seems to be increasingly fashionable, see Johnathon Ross for example. All started by dear Gordon I presume! My parents always told me swearing was a sign of a poor vocabulary and hence education (lol)
