  • Loop Diathermy - men look away NOW!!!!

Hi guys, now i know i do not normally do personal stuff, but i am sort of looking for a bit of advice, support and maybe a kick up the b*m.

Last Monday i had a colcoscopy followed by a loop diathermy and since then i have been in a sort of blue funk kind of mood. I try and talk to hubby and he gets squeamish and puts his hand on hears ears singing la la la etc and i do not know anyone that has had one.

has any grapes had this procedure and have they had any (physical) after effects or mood swings, please pm me as i am sure that you do not want to put this kind of personal stuff on open forum, i would really appreciate it, just to have someone to talk over this with. My female friends are sympathetic, but sort of do not understand.

    Thank you guys

I looked away for as long as I could but finally temptation forced me to look.

Sadly I'm the same as the others, I have never heard of it.
Hope whatever it is gets sorted soon though.

Hi DED, I am familiar with both diathermy and colposcopy, but have not experienced them myself. Could you contact the Department where you had the procedure? They should have a specialist nurse who can talk to you, or they may have a support group you could attend. Hope your ok.

I had it done about 5 of years ago following CIN 3 pre-cancer cells being found during a routine smear. No side affects apart from a wee bit of bleeding for a few days. Had to go back for check up a few weeks later, then a few months after that, and still have to have annual smears (for nine years afterwards ) But other than that all is well and nothing sinister been found since. If you want to ask any questions, do feel free to PM me.

Know what it is, but not had it, although something similar. I went through the 'blues' too for about a month-ish.....it does go after a bit, promise

good luck and hope you see sunshine again soon xxx

Sorry not heard of it, but all the best. I'm not one of those squeamish chap's, always been of the opinion that if it affect's my missus, I want to know about it and that way we can chat about it and I can then support her through it.
