On the plus side - he is obviously confident that he did enough work to get decent grades!

Well, I got a B in my AS photography...which I am pleased with as I do work full time, missed 7 sessions and the second part of unit 1 I was really ill for and just submitted less than usual standard images. Plus I don't like doing background work just for the sake of it - and they demand that in order to get the full marks. I just like taking photographs!

his g/f was actually worse, as she was unable to take her exams, cos she passed out and ended up in hospital, with some heart problem so they wouldn't let her take them, in case it stressed her too much,(and she's dyslexic) so she's getting a grade that the markers decide, so she really doesn't want to know (she reckons they will give her E's ) anyway they have got up (under threat of a hose pipe under the duvet

) and they have just set off to college ( i do know they have passed, cos i just checked the local paper, online which have the A-E results) .... why aren't they as excited as me??

ooooooo well done

i'd love to be able to take good photos, my best ones are of the cats ..... if they sit still till after the camera has clicked (have hundreds of photos of tails)

Hey, well done Zazen999! I always think it's much harder to go back into studying later in life (even if it's only a bit later!) You really do get out of the hang of studying.
Himself and I spent a couple of years in our 40s doing a Certificate in Archaeology - equivalent to the first year of a degree course - one evening a week and several weekend field visits. I'd lost count of how many years it was since I'd written an essay since our degrees were in a science subject - and a lot of our work was in that form. However, we applied ourselves much more than we had at A level - and even university. It's all a laugh when you're young. Maybe Lynda's lad is just being 'cool' - it doesn't do to look eager about school stuff does it?

My son checked his online at 6am, but we suspected it wasn't good news when his second choice sent him a letter yesterday confirming his place with them. He's missed out his first choice because of his Physics grade.
Just heard his mate didn't get in to his first choice either. He doesn't know if he's got his second choice either until he checks UCAS. If not he should get a place though clearing with grades of B, C and E.
Shame, they had high hopes of going off together, sharing a uni flat to save money etc.

i'm not sure about being cool lol ..... he's done chemistry physics maths and further maths ....... not exactly 'cool' subjects ..... his GF says he's a geek lol

just got a phone call .......

does a happy dance, he got 3 A's and a B ...... though he only got a C in general studies, cos he got 2 U's on 2 of the papers ...... something makes me think he wasn't overly bothered about that lol ..... his G/F got 2 C's a D and an E which she's not too chuffed with, but it guarantees her place at Manchester uni, so they can stay together so they are both happy .... better go get some BBQ stuff and get the gazebo up, cos i think they might need a party this weekend

Excellent stuff; my OH got me a Star Bar for my efforts! I think he might want to go out tonight to celebrate but as I still feel ill it might have to wait for a while. Still, I love Star Bars so it's a good thing.

My BSc is in Maths and Sciences. I never understood why we are seen that way. Sciences are cool. I love Maths!

I did Biochemistry with Genetics for my BSc and was definitely cool *cough*. Then I did MSc Applied Biomolecular Technology. If you could spell it, you passed, hur hur! Well done Lynda's boy and all the others achieving their grades!
