Saw a bit of it.....turned it off, complete rubbish!
In my opinion I cant really see how it can claim to be a Father Ted replacement!

Absolutely fantastic show (imho)

i saw the live stageshow some years ago and have waited patiently for it to hit the screens...

my mum hailed from dublin and mrs brown brings back so many memories- minus the language!!

IMHO to say it's a Father Ted replacement is an insult to Father Ted.

Each to our own, and that's what's so intriguing about our human race.... Our 'sense of humour'.

Trousers quite often 'goes off on one' when he's watching the television, and like your good self, he's learned that the remote control does change the channel if he happens to find himself not enjoying something that he's watching.

Personally, where a new series/drama/sitcom/comedian is concerned, I tend to give them credence in my own mind..... A bit like 'Innocent before proven Guilty'.... but with this particular programme, I did spontaneously laugh out loud, and adored the humour from the very minute that I started watching it, so unlike you, I shall continue to watch and enjoy it.

I watched on the iPlayer and thought it hilarious.

I know there's a lot of swearing but the Irish & Scots seem to carry the 'f' word off well. It doesn't sound half so offensive when they're cussing. Must be the lovely accents.

I'm dying to get an obscene phone call now so I can chuck in those lines.....

I don't see any need to compare it to Father Ted (what's the similarity? swearing in a funny accent?!) but purely on it's own merits I found it riotously amusing

You're all welcome to your own opinions on how you view it, whether you see it in a similar light to Father Ted, or if you didn't understand the humour of either.

To be perfectly honest wit'ya, do I feckin' care? No missus, I don't.....

But it's on again tomorrow night BBC1 10.35pm or something. Trousers and I are Heddlu Araf, so we're different, which is nice.....
Please take time to watch it if you're not tucked up in bed with Teddy.
