Oh dear, our fluffy moggy sometimes spends the night with us but always wants to come into our room in the week when my oh has got up for work. There's a combination of hand holding,chewing my fingers and sitting on me if I am laying on my back.he does some strange sucking finger thing. I can cope with this and it's quite cute but would not be happy with being woken at odd times.Gardening forever- housework wheneverComment

I usually get woken several times a night by one of my cats wanting to go out or coming to sleep on my bed.

Been there, done that, got the T shirt.........
I can't remember what a decent night's sleep is like.
Can someone tell me how such a small animal manages to take up so much room in bed? And why I find myself lying in the middle of the double bed with my head between the pillows so that the cats remain comfortable?Comment

My cat isn't quite that bad. She just stomps around like a herd of elephants at night as soon as the light goes off (before then she is 100% the stealthy hunter). I had a cat once that used to wake me up with the fish-breath-in-the-face trick. It's actually quite terrifying to open your eyes to a giant cat face, and that's before you notice the stench!Comment

I have 3 cats and it has been scientifically proven that you can only sleep 2 cats comfortably and one human in all sorts of twisted back ache producing poses in a double bed. Also cats can only stretch out across a bed rather than in a pillow to end of bed (normal human) position.Originally posted by Tomato Head View PostComment

You're shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, here, Piskie. One of my cats is a good boy and it's just as well, because Cleetus (aka, 'Manky Old Thing', 'The Sh*tter', 'Pooeypants' and 'Yowl Boy' amongst other non-forum friendly names) wakes me up all through the night. Activities include:
Walking over me and then demanding access to 'under-duvet land';
Claws in the nostril;
Pats on the face;
Charging around the house, yowling;
The above is followed by a sh*t so smelly it makes the eyes water, normally around 5:30 - varies +/- 30 mins. Literally wakes us up if we're so knackered we sleep through the wacky races routine! I have to then get up to deal with it.
I feel sorry for Rosco, having to live with this thing! Rosco is the good boy. Number 2s are done outside and he sleeps on a pillow above mine (stops arguments) and gets up when I do. Good kitty!
Oh I forgot the dragging of the water bowl around the laminate floor. Makes a horrendous screeching noise! I put it on a towel, but eventually he drags it off that. Oh Piskie that is almost a purrfect description of my Sebbie cat...he has only started this since Monty cat is no longer with us.
This morning 4:45am yowling (yes he is a cat!) at the foot of my bed, up on bed thump - back on floor thud!, up on bed thump - down on floor thud! ....getting the picture now? more yowling. Paddles around bedside table slip slide, crash!
I too give in and go down to feed, he beats me to the bowl and starts eating !!!! What is all that about?
There is nice part though and it is two fold...
one -we still have a Sebbie cat (miss Monts so much) Sebbie 17 now!!!!!
two - I get to hear dawn chorus!
