  • I feel soooo guilty!

My OH and I have been struck down with the dreaded flu - it happened on the 28th Dec, and we've been confined to bed ever since. I can honestly say this is the worst I've felt for years, and I know the OH feels the same. We can hardly walk to the kitchen for a drink (hence the reason we've only ate a slice of buttered bread in 3 days - between us!!)....but...what I really feel guilty about is the animals.

The poor dogs can't get out for a walk...the poor cats aren't getting any attention at all...and I can't even go out to clean the chickens. I feel so guilty - it's not fair on them!!!

Ok, just wanted to get it off my chest -

Oh...and Happy New Year to you all, when it comes!

I'm can understand you feeling guilty- but you can't help it, and so long as the animals are fed and watered and sheltered then that's fine.

When you think of the conditions animals are kept- and survive- in other countries, then what your pets are experiencing now is sheer luxury.

They'll be fine- that's the thing about most pets ( my daughter's bunny sulks if caged all day) they don't bear grudges!

    Hope you feel better soon.

so...quiet night in for you tonight then to celebrate New Year???

Absoutely...we'll be snuggled up in bed, sleeping - or coughing our guts up - for the bells!

The dogs are in bed with us...all three cats are on the bed...but the poor girls are confined to their run. Every time I walk past the kitchen door they run up and down screaming at me for attention. Poor wee things - might have to bring them in to the party if they keep doing that. The guilt kills me!

Are you in France, or UK right now? I just had a giggle laughing at your orange hand problem!

Aw...poor you two! Hope you feels better soon. Rotten luck! Try not to worry too much about your girls - they will be fine and they'll forgive you soon enough.

Just concentrate on getting well, then treat them to something special. When we kept chickens as kids that used to be tiddly little sandworms...but maybe there's more sophistamakated Chicky-snacks now...x

((((Hugs)))) Bephlam. Don't fret about it, just get yourself better. Dogs are clever, they'll realise you aren't yourself, and so long as they're fed, warm & loved, it won't kill them to do without walks for a while. As for your girls, well, they've got room to move around, they can survive without cuddles for a week or so
Hope you're up & feeling better soon.

I agree with all the above, animals live in the now, not what you did or didn't do yesterday, you have nothing to reproach yourself for, you NEED to get well, so that you can continue to look after them the way you always have.

So i wish you a speedy recovery, and a good start to the new year for you and all of yours.

Get well soon huneys! The animals will adapt! Think how many are being cruelly treated. Take care! Drink plenty of fluids and you'll soon feel better, Judi xxx
