    Horse Manure

    OK, as a stable owner, could you growers tell me where the best place to advertise my horse manure is please?

    For many years I have had to pay the local farmer to take it away for me. This is very costly and as my horses are in all year round its an on-going problem.

    Hi Chapel Lane, are you able to deliver loads of the manure or would it need to be collected. If you can deliver I am sure local allotment sites would welcome you with open arms, I know ours would in Stourbridge. If it needs to be collected have you tried advertising it [I think it is free] in the local free paper.

      Well you've made a good start by mentioning it here, but if that fails (which I doubt it will), you could try freecycle.

        I get my manure from a lady on freecycle. Alls she asks is that you return the bags

          We have a poster up at our allotment site advertising manure deliveries from a local livery yard - but plenty of people around here just seem to bag it up and leave it by the farm gate with an honesty box.

          I'd contact the local allotment societies or your council for contact details...I'm certain it'll fly and be much appreciated!

            Romsley Parish Council provides an allotment site at Winwood Heath Road. You could pop along, talk to the site Rep, and offer your manure (well, your horse's manure).
