Is today not the shortest day? If so, tomorrows the day we should be looking forward to as its the start of lengthening days!

PS Anyone watch the eclipse this morning?

Yes, thank god we have reached the shortest day. Now we can start looking forward, and hopefully the weather will begin to improve.
Totally snowed in here even though there was no snow forecast for the east coast, but then again, the weather has gone crazy everywhere.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Happy solstice from me too. Don't think we can get a fire together tonite as the firepit and all the wood are frozen solid.
Wishing everyone a happy, happy time, wether they are venturing out into the cold or not.

There's something magical about the winter solstice that I don't feel in summer. I think it's the hope for the coming year and the relief that, even though it's perishing cold at the minute there are better things to come.

I doubt if non-gardeners and those with no connection to the land feel it.
