Depressin' innit?!I'm sure it's not my imagination but that a few years ago we were being "warned"about excesssively beaytiful summers? What went wrong?
On the positive the kiddies are finally going to sleep at a decent hour & even having a bit of a lie-in!And we can put the chooks to bed a bit earlier too!

The summer weather went down hill a couple of years ago after The Guardian had a big feature on gravel gardens and how to cope with droughts! I blame them.

Look up La Nina....... sure that 'girl child' is to blame! come back the 'boy child' El Nino
She would stay for a year maybe 18 months, still she sits tight in the tropical Pacific!!!
I say next year will be better! I am not renowned for ever being right I hasten to add

It's definitely autumn. My French beans are drying on the plants, my pumpkins are ripe, and the spiders are spinning webs all in your face

You're right Headfry, the evenings are getting quite dark and things are starting to look autumnal. Looks like summers gone - shame it never really arrived. Boo Hoo.
Anyway, in near future I'm off to Portugal for some sunshine. Looking forward to that.

My sunflowers ( ...yep -I did plant them out a bit late I know) are only just starting to open!!!!
Yep I did notice at 8pm the other night that it was nearly dark!

Think I'll have to start raking up the leaves off the drive this weekend too.

At least the Sunday Night chat will be starting up soon ( will it Piglet???)

My sofa blanket is out, already. Gets chilly in the evenings in my living room, but I'm too tight to put the heating on, yet!

The oak tree in my garden is already starting to rain acorns, and it's definitely darker in the mornings/evenings.

Spiderwebs? Every morning I get a faceful as I walk out of the door.

Definately getting darker at both ends. Autumn is my favourite season but it would be nice to have it distinguished by a summer beforehand!
