  • Damn these small keyboards!

Just typed a post that I thought would be a bit of fun.

Pressed the wrong key and wiped it.

Let's see if anyone can guess (or be @rsed) to work out what it was about.

I hate small keyboards. I won't have a laptop cos I can't cope with it. I was taught to touch-type more years ago than I care to remember on an old-fashioned typewriter and I just can't adjust to anything less than a standard QWERTY keyboard.

Hi HW - 66% of my posts don't make it to the Vine - not a bad thing either!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Funny, I was just typing a post that I decided not to submit. I reckon we ought to copy all the posts we're about to not-post and paste-and-submit them onto one thread!

On the subject of keyboards, I just broke the left cursor key off my laptop saving it from a fumbled fall.

What were you about to post HW? Was it your theory on why the Higg's Boson will never be found, or why you think the gold standard is irrelevant in today's economy, or how to make the perfect bacon and marmalade sandwhich?
If it's not one of those three I don't believe you

Nothing quite so profound or thought provoking, but then what else do you expect from me?

Bacon and marmalade sandwhiches are both thought-provoking AND profound!

Ok, bacon does feature - in a fashion... (bizarre that you mentioned that Ollie).

This morning I watched High Fidelity (one of my all time fave fillums) and anyone who's seen it will be familiar with the "lists" thing (Pumpkin Becki take note).

Then, this afternoon I was listening to Richard Bacon (see) on BBC 6Music whilst ironing. During teh show he played "Mandinka" by Sinead O'Connor (great track) and then went on to say how when he looked up Sinead on Google it did that predictive thing (where it suggests answers before you've typed the whole name). He asked if you could guess what the next two Sineads on the list were. I couldn't.

                It gave me an idea.

What are the top 10 results if you type in your first name.

                Mine:

                1. Wayne Song Title
                2. Wayne Rooney
                3. Wayne Rooney Baby
                4. Wayne Rooney Street Striker
                5. Wayne's World
                6. Wayne Thiebaud
                7. Wayne Dyer
                8. Wayne and Coleen baby
                9. Wayne Gretzky
                10. Wayne Mardle

No, I've no idea who half of them are either - and the other half I'd rather not know!

                    On the subject of keyboards.
I use a laptop but use a separate keyboard for no other reason that Madderbat(OH) says I am too heavy handed for the laptop I also use a separate mouse.

I don't understand, I'm on a laptop at the moment and quite happily touch typing on it's QUERTY keyboard - by the way, the word (?) QWERTY is surprisingly hard to touch type!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
