  • Can I Just Say...

I think that massive, huge new section called The Magazine Rack on the front page, is bl**dy awful... It's nearly as big as the On the Plot section, which is what we're supposed to be about, surely? Fair enough to have a section for discussion of GYO mag, we all love it and buy it, critiicise and question it. But why do we have whole sections for other magazines taking over the front page? Don't they have their own forum?!

I'll admit to being tetchy due to pain/painkillers after a hospital appt today, but.... I really don't like that new section

Yep I agree Sarz. Looks like a marketing ploy to me

I am afraid I have to agree with you on this Sarah.
I suspect that the other titles are also owned by the same chaps as GYO mag - hence mass advertising.....
Lets hope they don't branch out too far in the world of publishing!

I am afraid to confess I don't look at the main website often - I have the vine bookmarked and go straight to the new posts bit. Must remember to take a look see what you are commenting on later - busy cooking just now.

absolutely, if we must have them, can they at least be moved to the bottom below the more frequently used forums?

Been and looked - most confusing for newcomers I would say.

It confused me when I first saw it, thought I'd got the wrong forum!! I agree with Bride, if it has to be, then please shift it to the bottom of the page

I was just wondering how long that had been there!
Don't mind it either way (interested to see if it develops) but would agree it would be better at the bottom, blatant advertising!

I reckon a bit like the addition of adverts to the website we'll soon get used to the new forum threads and post to them when we've something to say.

Trouble is as it is marketing, tucking them out the way would defeat the object?

Perhaps if we ignore them, they will go away

I stopped subscribing to GYO some time ago as I found most of the articles tended to repeat and I thought that there were too many links to other publications rather than revolutionary GYO ideas.
Still look at the vine regularly and get loads of inspiration from the threads.

Is it me or is the forum clock still running on summer time? I would have thought that GMT would have been a better baseline anyway.
