  • Can I apply for a job??

    Here? Somehow?

I read a post this morning that absolutely infuriated me, as a Brit, I think I reached "ticked off" in the peeved stakes.

I crafted my reply, skillfully and with venom, but then realised that it would probably cause offence, was departing from the the OP's theme and was, in short, full of ire.

    So I binned it.

Any self moderating jobs going spare??

        I often do that too.
I am curious now which one made you so angry.

You can have the job if you can give us an idea of what comes before and after "ticked off" in the Brit peeved scale!

I got sacked from the self moderating corps, it only causes ulcers so best say what you mean I say and blow the dissenters, hey they might hang you though if you admit to buying the DM.

My rule has always been - If something makes you really angry compose a letter or an email saying exactly how you feel and what you think. Then go to bed and sleep on it. Re-read it and (probably or definitely) edit it before you send it.

I can't tell you how many post I have almost pressed 'submit' on and ended up pressing the 'back' button instead! Sometimes its because I have an opinion, but I think the thread is heading somewhere a bit volatile, or sometimes I think 'yeah, your feelings have already been voiced perfectly by someone else, leave it there'.

Nothing wrong in a bit of self moderating...now, do I press 'submit' or 'back'...decisions decisions!!

It is very difficult sometimes to keep your opinion to yourself so that you don't offend, especially when you sometimes see posts from people that don't mind offending! Not sure that makes sense now!
