  • Best laid plans:(

was supposed to be doing a car boot this morning at local school to raise funds for the lottie site and its chuffing pouring down
We've got over 300 veg/flower plants, 50+ jams & chutneys all donated by plotholders to keep going now for another few weeks and rain is forecast all weekend so no escaping to the plot for me...might even have to do some ironing
The love of gardening is a seed once sown never dies ...

what a shame, but there are still dedicated car boot shoppers out there, rain or not, always someone after a bargain,it all depends on IF you feel like going, and what shelter if any you have, and it's colder to,
sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these

my ironing basket is staring at me too, my excuse for not doing it was going to be that i needed to build a raised bed but the rain has thrown that right out of the window

      i'm sooooooo annoyed!

Tha answer to the ironing problem that seems to keep coming up is to by clothes that don't need ironing
We have a shake and fold method in our house and only iron if really essential.... you know for weddings and stuff

That's me Incy!Ironing happens once in a blue moon, when the few things we own that actually NEED it are about to be worn.
You'd be amazed at what doesn't need ironing if dealt with the right way. Fold into whatever you use to carry it to the washing line (if you use one), and finish in tumble dryer (last 5 mins is enough), and remarkably few items will actually need the iron.

I wait5 for a wet day, set the ironing board up in front of the TV and do a marathon iron-in that keeps us going until the next time.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

If it was folder while wet (ie before hanging out to dry) it STILL tends not to need ironing. Shirts, collars and cuffs perhaps, because by the time a shirt has been worn for 5 mins, you wouldn't know the difference on any other part. Similar applies to a lot of other stuff. Ask yourself just how long it will actually look 'ironed' once in use......
