  • aHHH no heat

Heating was on this am when we got up!
I went out this am and when I came in thought its cold, so presses to advance the heating no heat! Checks the boiler no flame reset it nothing... runs hot tap... boiler fires up and have hot water... changes battery in the thermostat....
still nothing going to wait to see if it fires up when its set to click on again at 4pm if not looks like money I had put aside to get car serviced will go on boiler

Do you have a wireless thermostat?

Ours does that sometimes so I go up the scale to maximum, then down to minimum, then to temperature we want - always seems to work for some reason!

Like the IT thing of switching it off then switching it on again?

Tried switching on and off again... nothing!
The thermostat is wired in but a digital face....changed batteries tried changing the setting ..nothing!
The boiler is a combi boiler and was here when I moved but isn't that old, this is the third time its broke last time it was a loose wire, the time before that a part needed replacing, next door have same boiler and have had trouble with theirs aw well!!

Sounds like your 2 or 3 port valve has malfunctioned,, if you look on the valve it should have a lever that you can move from auto to manual,, then you will have hot water and heating, about £80 for a new one :-(.

What about the boiler pressure? Is that ok? Mine will cut out if it's less than 1psi. I have to open two valves manually to increase the pressure and it's fine after that.

check to see if theres any boxes round the boiler with a button, i have one of those that switches itself off sometimes, and it won't work, it's on the wall, there is also a switch like a light switch above mine that i knocked off once

is there a digital display on the front giving an error code??

Almost, but by raising then lowering it seems to reset itself.

The IT switch-it-off and back on gets me a load of grief at work, but almost always works

It would normally be on 22mm copper pipework somewhere around the tank,, look for a white or silver box, with 2 or 3 pipes comming from it, there will also be a cable going to the box,, then when you find it, try to find a small metal lever,, simply slide it in the direction of manual, ( it should be marked on the cover.

                    Hope you warm up soon

A combi boiler wont have a three port valve as its on demand heating , not stored heating in a cylinder.

It sounds like either a room stat issue (either set to low or its lost its link to the boiler if wireless), low pressure or a control knob turned down? Worst case it will be the pcb.

Well after it working fine all yesterday afternoon and evening...... this morning nothing... no hot water either phoned the plumber he's hoping he can come tomorrow... the pressure gauge is showing no pressure and there is no warning lights flashing so hoping thats all it is and its not going to cost me too much..... the extra money I had sorted was to put car in to get sorted
