Forgive me for me for being a doubting Thomas, but the picture of the husband shows him with earphones on,exactly the same ones I use with my metal detector................

Two swedes and a carrot...sounds like they're making a right meal of it.

When i first moved into the house after i got married and was sorting out the garden was told by the old couple that lived nextdoor to keep a look out for a engagement ring that was lost about 40 years before when the lady was feeding the chooks .
Lo and behold i found it and gave it to the husband and he had it cleaned and he gave it back to her she was rather surprised but very thankfull . jacob

While we are on about lovely stories my elderly neighbours who both sadly died in there eighties were engaged to be married in wartime. He had no money so he gave her an elastic band, doubled and trebled over and put it on her ring finger as a token.
I was told this by auld George before he passed away and he said his missus still had the elastic band in her jewelry box after all these years!
Maybe i'm an auld softie, but I thought this was very sweet!

What a beautiful story, about the rubber band. Call me daft, but that to me epitomises romance. The showing of tenderness purely for the sake of showing love.

And of course, coming from you it has the ring of truth...

I'm amazed that it lasted all those years in the box. I'd have assumed that it would go all gooey from exposure to air pollution (perish the thought )
