I almost got badly caught out last night, the met office said it was going to be 7c lowest, which means we would normally be around 4 or 5c.

It actually got down to 1.5c, in the greenhouse.

I didn't bother putting the box over the Ferline.
The outside cucumbers (in the greenhouse) looked a bit sick this morning, I put the worst 3 in the cool shade and they seem to be recovering.

Everything else seems to be ok, even the courgettes which are outside under (non ended) cloches.

I did think the sky was a bit clear last night, but it was still really warm late at night, the temp must have dropped like a stone.

There are some 3c nights forecast later this week, which almost certainly means a frost.

I'm not regretting keeping the toms in pots atm, I almost got carried away with this very hot weather we are having.

It hasn't rained in well over a month, but the beds so carefully filled with loads of manure and leaf mulch seem to be holding moisture very well indeed.
