      Just added link.
You can sign up for warnings- 3 days in a row and your spuds are very susceptible to blight

Down here we met the full Smith criteria today, first time for a couple of months. Hopefully it will blow over.

            Thanks for the heads up.....

So...does that mean I shouldn't harvest spuds today?

Or, will salad potatoes for immediate use be okay to dig if I leave the rest of them and the maincrop undisturbed?

Thankfully only near misses here (so far, touches wood). My Charlottes went in late and aren't due out till mid-August...

                Sorry... newbie alert.

I've signed up for the alerts on the website. What should I be doing if and when we hit three days (which appears to be the crisis point?!)

I'm concerned mine are already struggling - although pretty sure its not blight, its more like wilting and dying!

                Thanks

It's just a warning to say that the plants are susceptible to getting blight if there are spores near them.
It doesn't mean they are infected- so don't panic
But- You need to look out for tell tale brown splodges appearing on the stems and leaves- then either dig them up and store them or cut off their haulms to slow the progression of the blight down into the spuds.

Some peeps will start spraying with a copper mix to reduce the risk at this point. Depends on how organic you want to be.

Full Smith warning received yesterday, and it's very humid again today

Nearest blight is 35 miles away, so I'm not panicking yet

For any grapes from Northern Ireland, here's the official site (the link says 2014, but the data is for 2015)

DARD Blight-Net 2014 | Department of Agriculture and Rural Development

There was a Smiths period in my area on 7-8 July...just need to wait now and see if any damage done
