  • Yum Yum, first allotment meal..

...well, snack, really. Mixed salad leaves and radishes with a herb and sour cream dressing (lovage, cutting cellery, everlasting chives, lemon balm tips).

It's the small tings that make me happy

Yup, we've had similar over the weekend - it was the first time (really) we have been able to grow our own meal. the only thing we didn't produce were the eggs - but that's on the todo list

I had a stir fry of onion scape, green garlic, pea shoots, Greek oregano and thyme yesterday, great stuff!

I was thinning my Little Gems at the weekend and just eating the thinnings! I then pulled up a couple of radishes in the next bed to go with them....for the newbie grower each little event like this cements the reasons why you do it and why you want to do it more.

Satisfaction is a vegetable you have grown yourself.

My daughter has stopped buying bags of salad in the supermarket, she now brings a reusable bag to my garden and gets three times the amount, it's fresher, more variety, much more taste and it's free!
