  • When do you harvest yours?

I have maris peer potatoes in bags. they have been in 11 weeks. They are in flower and I had a furtle last weekend and found one ordinary sized potato. I am desperate to split the bag and see how many (if any) are in there! Would you say it's too early? The packet said 12 weeks.

I dug up all my spuds early last year - it was my first year and I was impatient too.
They were lovely but small. This year I am being good and waiting longer. My spuds are still lovely but will last longer because thay are bigger (and so go farther). Perhaps have a few and leave the rest to get a bit bigger.

Edit: Just re-read your post and it is for Maris Peer not Maris Piper - ooops

The British Potato Council has Maris Peer as second early so they could take up to 16 weeks to fully mature.

The proof of the growing is in the eating.
      Leave Rotten Fruit.
      Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potasium - potash.
      Autant de têtes, autant d'avis!!!!!
Il n'est si méchant pot qui ne trouve son couvercle.

I tend to just keep having a dig around in the bags and lifting potatoes as we need them. Until they really die down and then I'll empty the bag.
