  • Seed Swap day - West Wales 9th February

Hi to all West Wales Grapes. There's a Seedy Saturday in West Wales Eco Centre, Lower St Mary Street, Newport, Pembs Saturday, 9 February 2013 10:00 until 12:30
arranged by Kate McEvoy of Real Seeds.

"Bring all your spare seeds, plants, cuttings etc . . . and take home something new to grow for free!
Don't worry if you don't have anything to bring, we always have plenty of seeds & plants to spare.
Tea, coffee & cakes all morning, children welcome".

Does anyone fancy meeting up there? I could bring the Virtual Seed Parcel as well, if there's anything you fancy swapping.

Marchogaeth - its the same day as the Carmarthen Seedy Saturday which is a pity

I'd love to go although I'm not sure I'll make it that far. Perhaps if someone is going they can take some seeds from me?

I'm sure we could sort something out if you want to go Poly. Or I'm happy to swap your seeds for you. Its the same day as the Carmarthen Seedy Saturday unfortunately, but meeting Real Seeds makes it worth driving an extra 50 miles to Newport!

            Wow that would be superb.

No real need to swap any seeds, I was just hoping to find a good home for some seeds (bit of a seed saving freak here) and like you would love to meet anyone from Real Seeds. (I’ve already got some seeds for the seed parcel as I forgot to put them in with seed circle ones I sent to Zazen the other day. I hadn't cottoned on you were running it now.)

What a lively and interesting event. So different to the few I've managed to get to before - all about the seeds and plants. Loved the contribution of wild/insect friendly flower seeds from Lammas who didn't even want a swap just to spread them around! Made me deterime to try and do the same here this summer (?) in the hay meadows.

How fantastic to see people from a commercial organisation doing something like this without any hint that they were involved, not even a seed catalogue in sight or their name on the envelopes they had had printed, which were freely available.

PS. I just don't have enough time to say hello to everyone as they join so please take this as a delighted to see you here!

Agreed, Marchogaeth - its was an excellent day all round. So many seeds from RealSeeds catalogue available freely and the Lammas wildflower seeds - not to mention the Kombucha One of the highlights was hearing an animated discussion about the merits of MoneyMaker tomatoes - and they took the seeds
Same time, same place next year?
