  • Ripe or not?

I have only 2 aubergines growing, and they both have green patches on them. Will they ripen to be all purple? or are they ok to eat now?

What variety are they? Some types never change from green and some start off purple from the start. As far as I'm aware they don't really ripen as such and you can eat them when small and relatively immature if you want although obviously you'll get less flesh than if you let them grow on more.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite, the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
