  • Pepper plant flower colour

Does any one know if Pepper plant flower colours are always white or can you have yellow ones on a different plant to the white ones?
Or am I growing a tomato from a pepper seed?
Feed the soil, not the plants.

I think that they're usually white except Rocoto which are purple. What do the leaves and the stem look like?

      Tomato.
The problem is, it came from out of a whole pepper .
At least, I thought it did.

Plants with black or purple chilli peppers tend to have purple flowers, as well as the rocoto chillies.

I haven't ever seen a yellow chilli flower, but I haven't grown all of them yet...I am trying!

Seed stuck to the knife or chopping board? You weren't making salsa at the time were you?

I grow lots of varieties of pepper and the only flower colours I've encountered are white or purple. So I'd be pretty sure you've got a tomato. The plants look different too, peppers don't have the tiny hairs on their leaves and stems unless they're Rocoto.

I think I will grow it on in a pot, just to see if what it produces is worthwhile.
I can honestly say I have never made Salsa in my life.

Just been up greenhouse and there are 3 of these.
Here are phots of 1 of them still residing in a propagator.
Wonder if they were originally crossed with a tomato. Not even sure that that is possible.

Those are definitely tomato plants. Don't know how that could've happened, but tomato seeds got in there somehow. Toms and peppers can't cross. They are related but not that closely.

I like Tomper - short enough to write on a label (in case you forget what you've sown)
and it has a friendly feel about it, a name for a pet maybe.
Come here my little Tomper. What a cute face you have.................

If their mum was a hot pepper you could get spicey tomatoes.
