  • Peppadew Survival?

I've three Peppadew plants in the greenhouse, one has been chopped down to a small stump, the other two I've just left as they were after the foliage had died down. What do you think to their chances of survival in a cold greenhouse. Is there anything I should have done to overwinter them 'properly'? There seems to be a little bit of green in the middle of the cut off stump (or that could be my imagination... )

If they've survived so far - an important thing not to do, as I have learnt from momol, is don't bring them indoors to the warmth thinking it'll help them grow. It doesn't it kills them. I think the rapid change in temp from cold/cool to warm/hot did for my 3 overwintered pepper stumps.

So I guess keep them frost free and try and aclimitise them to warmer temps gradually, whilst giving them a bit of water with liquid feed.

I agree totally with SBP as I lost some of my chilis by giving them extreem temperature change (from 10 C to 21 C), try your best and see how it goes .
      Good luck.

Ooh, aren't you lucky! I love peppadew peppers. If they survive, can I be very cheeky and ask you to bear me in mind (much) later this year when you might have some seed...?? !!!

Hope they flourish (and not JUST for selfish reasons, I promise!)
