hmmmm, what is the definition of block-planting for this purpose?

and is there a category for "starting off in neat rows that wander and get filled in with other stuff later in the year"?

Blockplanting might be Square foot or similar ?
How about a "in pots" category?

Because I use narrow beds the rows tend to become blocks.

          I thought block planting was....
Examples half your bed is all cabbage the other half all cauliflower or split it into thirds. Or maybe 3 rows of 3 of the same variety
I found a picture that explains it better than me

VC I spent ages thinking of gardening styles and completely forgot about pots & containers .
Could a lovely mod add it to my poll please

You should be able to edit your poll yourself, SP, I think.
Those who've already voted can't vote again though!

I just tried to edit. I couldn't find how to do it.

If those that have voted other for pot & container gardening, and anybody else that hasn't voted yet just comment. I'll add it up in my tiny little head

Results are going to be hard to understand. with just 11 votes there is a 219% total vote.

Perhaps a radio button for 1 vote, 1 person - The software like it has the ability to do this because it says I've already voted - to identify main style, or change to a ranking system so that an analysis % main style is, % second is etc.

What about including pots and containers in "Other" ?

99 percent of all statistics only tell 49 percent of the story.

Aye - Was the 1st thing I had to do when looking at reports . Make sure the figures add up.

Carillion, Stagecoach and Virgin wouldn't be where they are today....

Oh wait. That is why. Pluck a number out of the sky. Add a chart and then walk away.

                      Sorry a pet hate

I'm not a fan of statistics as they can be manipulated to prove anything.

                        I read SP's Poll like this -
                        12 people have voted
Half of them plant in rows
2/3rd of them plant in blocks
Only 1 person plants "naturalistically". Wonder who that is??
                        Etc.
Because its a multichoice poll, most voters will have voted in more than 1 category - I chose 3- and there will be overlap between the categories.
Nobody's job is on the line when the results are in. Its all a bit of fun

I some times plant in phantom rows.
Nice neat rows with label and canes plus twine.
                          But nothing appears.

Tricky. I voted for rows (eg peas, tomatoes), blocks (eg onions, leeks), and other (pots) I could have also ticked gaps, as I usually put the buckets in gaps...

I also plant my flowers in sort of formal patterns which are neither rows nor blocks, but repeating themes of different types of flower.
